About Us

The Australian Satellite for the Royal School of Needlework.  

Located in Kalinga, Brisbane, Australia.

We are the Australian based teaching satellite for students who wish to undertake the Royal School of Needlework Certificate or Diploma programme.  We also offer occasional RSN day classes in a wide variety of embroidery techniques.  All details and bookings for these classes can be made through the RSN website.

Your Tutor - Sally Randle 

Sally is a qualified RSN Tutor having graduated from the Future Tutors Programme at the Royal School of Needlework, Hampton Court Palace, U.K. While in the U.K. Sally was able to gain additional experience working on restorations and commissions in the RSN Embroidery Studio.

Sally has a wealth of experience in embroidery and loves to help students develop their skills in fine needlework. You can learn more about Sally from her Tutor Profile on the Royal School of Needlework website.

About the Brisbane School of Needlework Studio.

The studio has been established to provide a comfortable venue for teaching and practicing the skills of fine hand embroidery. 

The studio is located on the ground floor and has one step just before the door. On arrival at the venue, please follow the signs to the studio door which is around the left side of the the building, just past the large front steps. 
Equipment

  • The studio is well lit and air conditioned.

  • There is an extensive library of embroidery reference books that students are able to use while at the Studio.

  • Students attending day classes will be provided with a kit containing all required supplies.

  • Casual students may be able to borrow some equipment such as scissors and hoops for use during lessons if needed.

 Facilities 
While at the studio students will have access to these additional facilities which are all located on the same level as the studio:
  • Kitchenette including fridge, kettle, and microwave
  • Bathroom facilities
  • Outdoor undercover seating

Students will be expected to bring their own lunch while attending full day classes. There is a Service Station a few doors away which has food and drinks available for sale.
